Son of Italian people who moved to the Southern of France. Since he was 5 years old Emanuel Ungaro will be breathing the air, the colours, the contrasts and the feelings which, afterwards, he will “paint” on his dresses. At the age of 22 he moved finally to Paris where he began to work alongside with the greatest designer Balenciaga who will teach him the rigour, the perfectionism and the continuous research. It is the beginning of a tormented man, anguished by his strong personality and great creativity. Since 1967, his dresses speak alone: strong contrasts of colours, continuous research of exclusive patterns, deep elegance and refined sensuality. Passion and reason live together in harmony.
